Colorado Rocks: PUBLISHED!

Hello Readers – and Runners! I published a book!

It’s been a minute since I last wrote about running progress. The fall has been exceptionally busy, full of a new school, a toddler in day care, and of course, being on tenderhooks with an ongoing pandemic.

Books:

Let me say it again: I published a book with Mountain Press! Hooray!

Colorado Rocks: A Guide to Geological Sites in the Centennial State is a big deal for me! This book is all about the fabulous geology of Colorado. It’s packed with photos and maps, and it’s written for the layperson. Most of the 50 sites I write about are easily accessible by car, and they talk about everything from how canyons form to fossils to mining and more. My fabulous coauthor, Marli Miller was actually a geology professor of mine while I was a student-athlete at the University of Oregon; who would have thought that 20 years later we’d write a book together!

The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is the star of the book cover. This canyon was the focus of my MS Thesis while at the University of New Mexico! You can visit the National Park year-round.

I have copies of this book that I’d be glad to sign and send your way. If you’re interested, just drop a note in the contact form here and I’ll be glad to send one your way in time for the holidays.

Second major news: If you are interested in the outdoors, you know I write about outdoor skills, tips, and tricks at sister blog Rough It Outdoors. I also made a 2022 calendar/appointment book and have published it on amazon. It has daily/weekly spreads for planning, month planners, and each month starts off with training guidance, planners, or skill to learn. Fun things like celestial events (meteor showers! full moons!), extra planning sheets and trip reports are also included. Head on over and grab one for your year ahead.
